Terms of Service
Last updated
These terms are an agreement between Boxmarshall Ltd, a company registered in Nigeria (RC 1557325) with its office in Lagos (“Boxmarshall”, “we”, “us”), and the organisation that creates a Prawnwire account (“you”). They cover Prawnwire’s mailboxes, the inbox on the web, phone and desktop, the console, the Prawnwire API and the MCP server. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
By creating an account or using Prawnwire, you accept these terms on behalf of your organisation, and you confirm that you are 18 or older and allowed to bind it.
1. The service
Prawnwire hosts email for your organisation on domains you own, and gives your team the inbox, the console, the Prawnwire API and the MCP server to work with it. Features listed as “Next” on prawnwire.com, such as hosted MCP and the iOS and Android apps, are not part of the service until we release them. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove one your organisation relies on, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
2. Accounts and administrators
- Your organisation’s administrators manage its members, domains and mailboxes, and decide who has access.
- Keep passwords and API keys secret. Tell us at once if you think someone has used your account without permission.
- You are responsible for everything done through your organisation’s account, mailboxes and API keys, including by AI tools you connect to them.
3. Your domains
You may only add domains that you own or are authorised to use, and you must keep the DNS records we ask for in place. If you lose control of a domain, we may stop handling mail for it.
4. Plans, invoices and payment
- Plans and their prices are listed in the pricing section of prawnwire.com and in the console. A plan covers your whole organisation, up to its limits on mailboxes, domains, storage and shared addresses.
- Boxmarshall invoices your organisation for the plan and billing period you choose. Each invoice states the amount due, any taxes and the date to pay by. Invoices can be paid online through our payment provider, Bachs Technologies Limited.
- If an invoice stays unpaid after we have reminded you, we may suspend the account until it is paid. Suspension does not delete your mail.
- If your organisation goes over a plan limit, nothing is deleted or suspended. New mailboxes, storage increases and new domains wait until you are back under the limit or move to a larger plan.
- We may change our prices. A new price applies from your next billing period, and we will tell you at least 30 days before it does.
- Payments are not refundable. If you cancel, the service continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use Prawnwire to:
- send spam. Bulk or marketing mail may go only to people who have agreed to receive it, and must include a working way to unsubscribe
- send phishing or malware, or mail that pretends to come from someone else
- send or store content that is illegal or that infringes other people’s rights
- harass, threaten or defraud anyone
- try to reach other customers’ data, or to get past our security, rate limits or sending limits
Mailboxes have sending limits that protect every customer’s deliverability, and we may adjust them. If we find a breach of this section, we may block the messages involved, pause sending or suspend the account. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. For serious abuse, such as phishing or malware, we may act at once.
6. Your data
Your mail and data belong to your organisation. You give us permission to store, process and transmit them only as needed to provide and secure Prawnwire. Standard IMAP and SMTP let you move your mail to another provider whenever you like. We back up mail, but keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
7. Other mailboxes and AI tools
- You may only link mailboxes from other providers that you are authorised to use. Those providers’ terms still apply to them.
- An AI tool you connect through MCP acts with the access of the mailbox it is connected to. You decide what it may do, and you are responsible for what it does.
8. Availability and support
We work to keep Prawnwire available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may take parts of it offline for maintenance or upgrades, and some causes of downtime are outside our control. Support is by email.
9. Cancellation and termination
- You can cancel at any time by emailing us.
- We may end this agreement if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, or if an invoice stays unpaid after we have reminded you. We will give you notice first, unless the breach is serious abuse under section 5.
- When the agreement ends, you have 30 days to export your mail and data. After that we delete it, and backup copies age out within 90 days.
10. Liability
- Prawnwire is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, business or data.
- Our total liability for all claims under these terms is limited to the amount your organisation paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including liability for fraud.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we will tell your administrators by email or in the console at least 14 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then. Using Prawnwire after that date means you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
